We believe my husband's grandfather was born near Foxhome, Minnesota on May 23, 1879. He married a Martha Etta Carothers from Garner, Iowa on June 10, 1904. We also believe he was employed by an implement business? His father's name was Henry Frederick Bodtker and his mother Ida Price Bodtker. They changed their name to Badker. Am looking for any information about these people, as this is all that we know. Frank Badker & wife is buried at Gary, South Dakota. Please send any information to us. Thank you!

Looking for Adolph Reinke or other spellings as listed above. He was married to my Great Grandmother Agnes Ulrich who later married Joseph Wanek. Adolph Reinke from what we have heard committed suicide about 1908 or 1909 about the time my Grandmother Margaret Reinke Johnson Jacobs was born. They lived at Breckenridge, Kent, Doran, Abercrombie in those area.

I am researching my mother's family particularly her father's family. Her maiden name is WANEK and she was born and raised in Breckenridge, MN. Her father, ARTHUR WANEK, was also born and raised in Breckenridge. My grandfather, Arthur's, parents were JOSEPH AND AGNES WANEK. Joseph was born in Wisconsin and Agnes in Minnesota. That's as far back as I can go. I do know that the parents of both Joseph and Agnes were all from Bohemia. I would greatly appreciate any help you could give me.

Currently researching the Sheriff's of Wilkin County. James R. NOLAN was Sheriff from 1879-1882, Francis M. ARBUCKLE was Sheriff from 1883-1886 and Joel L. CAMERON was the Sheriff from 1887-1892. Anyone with information and more preferably a picture of these men would be greatly appreciated.
When this project is done, all the pictures of the sheriff's of Wilkin County will be displayed at the Sheriff's office in Breckenridge.

I would also like information on them. My grandmother, JEANNE WANEK, was originally from Massillon, Ohio and later moved to Breckenridge. She was married once before my grandfather. Sitting here in Seattle trying to help my wife track down some ancestors...specifically, ggf Joseph Gunn, born Ontario c. 1855, married to Mary Ann Auman in Breckenridge, MN, date unknown. We don't know much about Joseph's life in Breckenridge but he apparently was prominent--known in the family, at least, as the "King of Breckenridge" and was either a U.S. or state Senator. He and his wife later moved to California where he died at Berkeley in (we believe) 1922.
The Gunns had a daughter, my wife's grandmother, Irene Marguerite Gunn Lucas, born in Breckenridge on (we believe) May 23, 1893. She later married Leonard Jacob Lucas from Ely, MN and most of the Lucases moved west to California. Other siblings included William, Lucy, Ernest, and at least one other.

Could someone please look up the obituary of my great-grandmother, Sarah Jane (Lyons) Bowden, who died in Breckenridge, Wilkin, Minnesota in 1882? Sarah died at about age 27, leaving four small children and her husband, John Edward Bowden.
